Artspace provides affordable live/work space for more than 1,100 artists and their families.  Meet some of the individual artists who bring vitality to our spaces.

Gulnara

Gulnara is a Tatar born American fine art photographer. In her native Russia she was a photography teacher and specialized in documentary and conceptual photography and her work is a part of major collections including Museum of the City of New York, Newseum, Akron Museum, The New York Public Library. 

Atikur Abdul

El Barrio's Artspace PS109 resident artist Atikur Abdul was born in Bangladesh and raised in New York. His art is inspired by major historical and current events, and his work has been shown at Smack Mellon in New York. 

Jenna Abts

Jenna is a thirty-something designer and illustrator currently living in Seattle, WA in the Artspace Hiawatha Lofts.

Greg Accetta

Greg Accetta is an El Barrio's Artspace PS109 resident who was born and raised on the South shore of Nassau County, Long Island, and found his passion for acting and filmmaking at an early age.

Ansa Akyea

Tilsner resident Ansa Akyea is an accomplished actor and director who has worked at some of the best local and regional theaters throughout the Twin Cities. City Pages named him Best Actor in 2007, and in 2011 Ansa was a recipient of the Minnesota Playwright Center’s McKnight Fellowship

Alexis Jasmin Alvarez

El Barrio's Artspace PS109 resident, Alexis Jasmin Alvarez, is a visual artist specializing in Digital Art & Printmaking. She is of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent and her family has been a part of El Barrio's history for more than 60 years.

Nick Anderson

Nick Anderson

Nick Anderson grew up surrounded by wild animals. Birds, frogs, lizards, snakes, fish, coyotes, cougars, bears, anything that darted, fluttered or swam had him captivated. To witness nature’s creations wasn’t enough…he had to create beings of his own! At a young age, art became his favorite pastime.

Mary Sawyer Atkinson

Since her move to Santa Cruz to live at The Tannery, Atkinson developed her own style of abstract "experimental" water media and has expanded from painting to include photography, book art, videos and mixed media.

April Barnhart

Drawing inspiration from fashion, nature and architecture, silversmith and jewelry designer and resident artist April Barnhart founded Aprilierre to extend her art into metalwork using sterling silver and semi-precious gemstones.

Harriet Bart

Harriet Bart creates evocative content through the narrative power of objects, the theater of installation, and the intimacy of artists books. Using bronze and stone, wood and paper, books and words, everyday and found objects, Bart’s work signifies a site, marks an event, and draws attention to imprints of the past as they live in the present.

Tia "Versatility" Blake

Brookland Artspace Lofts resident Artist Tia “Versatility” Blake is a Licensed Cosmetologist and Natural Hair Care Specialist. She has been in the industry for seventeen years and considers herself an artist in every aspect of her personal and professional life.

Kimmi C.

El Barrio’s Artspace PS109 resident artist Kimmi was was born and raised in Spanish Harlem, El Barrio and attended The Heritage School in the same neighborhood. She is an Art & Event Coordinator for Reed Space where she runs educational workshops surrounding the arts for creatives of all ages.

Melisa Caprio

Melisa Caprio is an inspiring and experienced photographer, author, and resident of Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts. In 2014, Caprio was nominated to Fort Lauderdale's Art Commission panel, whose goal it is to bring art into the community. 

Eric Carranza

Teacher, composer, performer and promoter and resdient of the Northern in St. Paul; Eric has been working in music since his teens. 

Edward James Castrillon

El Barrio's Artspace PS109 resident Edward James Castrillon is the vocalist and songwriter for the New York City based post-hardcore rock band, Atabey. Born and bred in Spanish Harlem, Edward's style is seasoned with 20th century American and Latin influences.

Perci Chester

Perci Chester is a contemporary visual artist based in Minneapolis, MN at the Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art. Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and is found in numerous public and private collections nationally and internationally. 

Celeste Cooning

Tashiro Kaplan resident artist Celeste Cooning is anything but a cookie-cutter artist. From templates she designs, Cooning creates cut-paper installations that have become popular guests at weddings, storefronts and public parks.

Linda Cover has been a life long artist, community activist/ organizer, naturalist and more recently an educator at the Artspace Tannery Lofts.

Carlos David

Carlos David is a fashion and portrait photographer based in New York who has been featured in publications in the U.S., Mexico and various European countries. He is an El Barrio's Artspace PS109 resident in New York. 

Michelle Dawn

Michelle Dawn, a resident painter at Artspace Mt. Baker Lofts, has been painting her entire life. She is currently focusing her energies on the human figure within the context of the perceiver's known world, and has begun using her experiential knowledge to contextualize abstract ideas. 

Antony De Gennaro

Antony De Gennaro is a musician, photographer & film/ video producer and resident of Tashiro Kaplan Artist Lofts in Seattle since 2004. 

Dana Della Camera

Dana DellaCamera

Dana DellaCamera is a creative force to be reckoned with and is nicknamed The Chameleon. She is a multi-disciplinary artist (vocalist, songwriter, actor, dancer, painter, drag performer) who is constantly expanding herself as an artist by taking on new challenges and collaborating with others. Her pieces are conceptualized from outfit, to choreography, to music and beyond. 

Sylvain Denis

Sylvain Denis is a French-Canadian born photographer has a great collection of fine art images of the American Southwest who's work has been published in numerous magazines.

Sylvia Roldán Dohi

Sylvia Roldán Dohi is an actor, singer, producer and dancer who has appeared with a diverse range of recording stars and performers, including such legends as Alice Cooper, Clarence Clemons and Charo. She is a resident of El Barrio's Artspace PS109.
