Stacey Mickelson joined the Artspace team in June 2001 as Director of Government Relations. Mr. Mickelson was raised in Minot, North Dakota, and represented that community for six years in the North Dakota House of Representatives. Elected in 1994 at the age of 24, he became one of the youngest legislators in the state’s history. He went on to win subsequent elections in 1996 and 1998 before retiring from elective office. He served on the House Finance and Tax Committee and as Vice-Chairman of the House Transportation Committee.

Stacey graduated from Minot State University in 1994, where he received a BA in history and political science. He brings to the organization not only a vast political network but an insider’s knowledge of local, state, and federal politics that helps Artspace navigate its way through city halls and state legislatures nationwide.
