Joseph Marion, Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, was born and raised in Belcourt, North Dakota. He attended school in Belcourt, graduated from Josef's School of Hair Design, and worked in styling salons in Belcourt and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Joseph owned and operated Josef's Hair Creations in Belcourt for 14 extremely successful years. He graduated from Turtle Mountain Community College 2004 with an Elementary Education degree and taught 3rd & 4th grade at St. Ann's Catholic School. He is presently Executive Director of Turtle Mountain Tribal Arts Association and operates Heart of the Turtle Native American Art Gallery and Resource Centers in Belcourt and Downtown Minot. He has volunteered with St. Ann's Catholic Church for 10 years, was parish council member, religious education instructor, altar server coordinator, summer camp board member, church sacristan, St. Ann's Novena coordinator, mentor with Sacred Child Project, foster parent, and more. Joseph presently lives in the Minot Artspace Lofts building in Minot.
