Senior Vice President, Property Development, Artspace

 

As Senior Vice President of Property Development for Artspace, Ms. Zimmer leads the Real Estate Development Division of Artspace.  Her team is responsible for new Artspace projects including site selection, entitlements, all private and public financings, design and architecture, construction estimating and management, government relations and community engagement.  Ms. Zimmer currently oversees a team managing the construction and pre-development work of 14 projects, totaling nearly $400 million in investment, throughout the United States.

In her nearly ten years at Artspace, Ms. Zimmer has led the development of several successful Artspace projects, including the award winning Brookland Artspace Lofts in Washington, DC, and Elgin Artspace Lofts in Elgin, Illinois.  She currently leads development for Dearborn, Michigan, Memphis, Tennessee and Silver Spring, Maryland. 

Prior to joining Artspace, Ms. Zimmer managed the private development of over $220 million in real estate in the Twin Cities for The Cornerstone Group, Ron Clark Construction and The Shaw Company in Chicago, Illinois.   She began her career in local government community development and planning for Hennepin County and the City of Minnetonka.

She has a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota and a BA in Political Economy from James Madison College at Michigan State University, Phi Beta Kappa.

She is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the ULI MN Market Council and serves on the Advisory Board for Dance Place in Washington, DC.
