Proposed uses of this fund include:

  • Support the national expansion of Artspace's Immersion program to help build the capacity of more BIPOC-led organizations and organizations serving historically and systematically unseen communities. This justice-led approach is a conscious effort to move the needle forward to create more inclusive, creative communities, and sustainably anchor cultural spaces in their neighborhoods.
  • Launch and support programs at Artspace projects such as The Cowles Center in Minneapolis, Oglala Lakota Artspace in Pine Ridge Reservation, SD, Ambassador Theater in Baltimore, and Ola La 'Llima Artspace Lofts in Honolulu, that expand performance, exhibition, and professional development opportunities for BIPOC artists.
  • Create programmatic exchange opportunities among diverse cultural partners.
  • Extend Artspace's Rafala Green Fellowship program for a decade providing 10 more BIPOC leaders with real estate development tools and networks, to eventually affect change wherever they choose.
  • Significantly enhance Artspace's ability to leverage partnerships across sectors who are engaged in breaking down systemic racism.
