All Creative Colleagues:
The surveys of space needs for artists, creatives, arts or cultural organizations, and creative or arts-friendly businesses are now closed. If you were one of the many who participated in this important study, thank you! Your input will help influence the potential for a new, affordable multi-use arts facility in Kansas City. This potential project would be designed specifically for the needs of the creative community and could include affordable space like: artist live/work housing, private studios, commercial space for creative businesses and nonprofits, and shared spaces for creating, practicing, learning, showcasing art, collaborating, engaging with the public and conducting business.
The City of Kansas City, MO and the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, MO are working with Artspace Projects, a national, nonprofit organization, to conduct a study of the space needs of artists of all disciplines and arts and cultural organizations and creative and arts-friendly businesses in KCMO and the surrounding region. This is the second big step in a feasibility process which began with a visit by Artspace in May 2015.
We value your opinions. Your input is critical to the success of the project and will ensure that any potential new space meets the needs of the creative community, including type, number and size of spaces, design features, affordability, and amenities.
Thank you for your interest in this project.
