Gizelle Vargas

Gizelle is an artist who has experience in crafting, drawing and knitting but mainly works in photography. By capturing memories and experiences, Gizelle absorbs the tradition of remembrance art into daily practice. Her photos are characterized by the use of everyday objects and or people. By exploring the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, she focuses on the idea of ‘public spaces’ and more specifically on spaces where any thing can happen at any given moment, throughout New York City.

Her works are based on inspiring situations with an emphasis on culture. Time and memory come hand in hand, and she takes daily life as subject matter with a concentration in human activity and nature itself. Her works often feature coincidental, unexpected or accidental instances; often things that tend to catch the eye.
