On the last Thursday of every month, something wonderful happens on the streets of Downtown El Paso.   People get out of their cars and stroll through intriguing artist studios, often not knowing what they will find. They meet new and interesting artists with a story to tell or artwork to show. And they become part of a vibrant community.

EL PASO, Texas - The new Artspace lofts located on the corner of Oregon and Missouri are expected to attract creative artists to the Borderland.Eric Pearson, CEO of the El Paso Community Foundation, said the lofts are a great and much needed addition to the city."The best way to sustain downtown in the arts was to support the artists and build not only an arts scene," Pearson said, "But make downtown an actual community, a bonafide neighborhood."

After years of planning and anticipation, Artspace El Paso Lofts is rising in Downtown El Paso and quickly moving toward completion.

The $12.7 million, 51-unit Artspace El Paso Lofts at 601 N. Oregon, next to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, is scheduled to be completed by late October.
