Amelia Gluba

Amelia resides at the Tilsner Artist Cooperative in a marvelous fifth floor live/work space with a long hallway that serves as a gallery for her work.  She studied fine art and received her BFA degree from Saint Cloud State University and her MFA from Northern Illinois University. Her earlier works include large scale paintings, intimate scale bronze sculptures and mixed media assemblage sculptures.  Amelia grew up roaming the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest towering old growth firs, cedars and hemlocks guarded her humble home, forever giving her a great appreciation of the natural world and the inspiration drawn from it.  Since moving to the live/work studio, smaller scale pieces in acrylics, water colors or drawings are especially preferred for the immediacy of the mediums which allow for spontaneous expressionism in my paintings and drawings. In love with color, pattern, design and an obsessive work ethic, an abundance of finished paintings and pattern designs are atop files waiting to be catalogued.
