Austin Williams

Austin Williams serves as Executive Producer for What’s Good 206 (WG206), a online magazine format show that produces segments focused on “feel good” and “inspirational” stories centered in the Greater Seattle area. WG206 has produced 80 plus videos and 90 articles produced or written by young people, and featuring uplifting content centered on the ‘206’ (Seattle's area code). WG206 stories range from interviews with community leaders to coverage of major events like Bumbershoot. The platform is accessible to young people (high school, college, and recent graduates) who received hands on production and journalism related experience, as well as opportunities to bolster their professional portfolio.

In February 2015, WG206 was nominated for Best Segment in the Short Documentary Category by the National Film Festival Talented Youth. (NFFTY).

Now a recent graduate, Williams had managed WG206 while being a fulltime student at the University of Washington. In 2014, Williams was selected by the University of Washington to represent the undergraduate schools as a social media panelist for national speaker Danah Boyd, author of It’s Complicated.

Outside of What’s Good 206, Austin enjoys writing and producing comedy shorts with his friends. After graduation, Austin hopes to take WG206 to the next level by securing a local television deal for What’s Good 206. He also hopes to create a sustainable plan to expand the nonprofit’s impact. In the long term, he plans to pursue a career producing documentary films and television shows.
