Becky Carlson St. Clair joined Artspace in 2011 as a consultant, joined staff as a project manager in 2012, and is now Director of Property Development. She played a key role in the development of projects in Minot, ND and Dearborn, MI; led the project in Hastings, MN; and is currently project lead for Northside Artspace Lofts in Minneapolis.
Prior to joining Artspace, Becky worked for five years as a project manager at Somerset Development Company, an affordable housing company in Washington, D.C. Before moving into real estate development, she worked for two years as a cartographer at Syracuse University and at a custom cartography company in D.C. When talking about her experience, she is always explaining to people that being a cartographer does not mean she was out in the wilderness, mapping new lands. She has a Master of Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia, a B.A. in Geography from the Maxwell School of Citizenship, and a degree in Spanish from Syracuse University.
Becky lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two young boys. In her “free time” she enjoys running (squeezing in a road race or two a year), reading, knitting, baking, and giving her design opinions on the renovation of her 1920s home.
