En Avant means moving forward! Let’s celebrate the perseverance of the Minnesota dance community and look forward to the fantastic programs, performances, and artistry that lie ahead with a day-long virtual program of activities on November 6, 2020.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
12:00 – 1:00 PM: Dress Rehearsal Join a lunchtime musical theater and jazz dance class with Cowles Teaching Artist, Renee Guittar. This class is for dancers of all ages and abilities – so grab your roomie or a kiddo!
6:00 - 6:30 PM: Pre-Show Warm-Up Get ready for tonight’s performance, no stretching or resin required. Learn how to make the En Avant! signature cocktail, and get a behind the scenes tour of the Goodale Theatre with the Cowles’ own Paula Vasquez Alzate.
7:00 - 7:30 PM: Show Time! You’ll get a sneak peek: Tune in for an exclusive preview of some of the upcoming shows in our 10th anniversary season! Performances include THE MIXTAPE Collective, Ballet Co.Laboratory, and collaboration between Hatch Dance and STRONGmovement.
Plus: Be the first to hear about our plans for sustaining the dance community and providing more access to dance education – and how The Cowles Center pivoted our Education and Community Engagement programs to reach more audiences than ever. 8:00 PM Curtain Call After Party Let loose! Join Cowles’ Teaching Artist, Djenane Saint Juste for Caribbean Dances that will make for a fun and joyful interactive dance party. Turn those Zoom cameras on, and let’s move together!

Ovation Admission: $250 We see you crying out for more, and we’ve got you covered! Along with admission to all En Avant! virtual engagements, support at this level will include a hospitality tote with speciality drinks, sweet & savorty treats, the interactive En Avant! Accompanist*, and a limited-edition artist print by Philipo Dyauli. Available for contactless curbside pick-up the week of the event.
General Admission: Free Admission to attend En Avant! is complimentary. A suggested donation of $50 will support The Cowles Center in providing sustainable, equitable access to dance education and programs. Any attendee who donates $50 or more will receive the downloadable En Avant! Accompanist* as a thank you from us!

This is a particularly talented accompanist! Within, you’ll find an event toolkit that includes fun additions to enhance the whole family’s event experience! Coloring activities, games, educational resources, cocktail and mocktail recipes, curated list of recommended dance music and movies, and information about the upcoming 20/21 season and programming are all included.
