About The Northrup King Building

Built in 1917 as 10 buildings across 13 acres, this historic structure continues to be an iconic landmark of Minneapolis, the largest art complex in the state of Minnesota, and an anchor venue for some of the nation’s largest open studio events.

The Northrup King Building is home to over 350 tenants, including artist studios and galleries, creative small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. As one of the most substantial cultural hubs in the country, both in terms of its physical size and the number of cultural producers that it houses, tens of thousands of people pass through NKB’s doors each year to engage with artists and purchase their art. The revived art complex continues to be renowned as an extraordinary and affordable hub for artists and innovators who have contributed much to the culture of Northeast Minneapolis and beyond. northrupkingbuilding.com
