Two dancers mid-performances

Red Clay Dance Company lives to awaken global change through creating, performing and teaching dances of the African Diaspora–change that transforms cultural and socio-economic inequities in their local and global community.  They also share stories they know to be true about who they are as a people. Through this work, they amplify voices of the African Diaspora, seek remuneration equity for artists, support Black women and create accessible excellence.

Red Clay Dance Company will work with the Artspace team, Chicago-based real estate professionals, and a network of arts leaders to advance their goal of securing additional space to incubate their newly formed Center for African Diasporic Movement Research. They’re excited to not only work toward expanding our facility but also to join a learning community to build partnerships, share stories, and connect our work to broader discussions of community development, entrepreneurship and ARTIVISM!
