This year marks a major milestone: El Barrio’s Artspace PS109 is celebrating its 10th anniversary as a cornerstone of affordable housing and creative space for artists in East Harlem. Since opening its doors in 2014, PS109 has become much more than a building. It is a living, breathing hub where artists, neighbors, and cultural organizations come together to create, perform, and share their voices.

Artspace continues to steward the beloved Northrup King Building, while advancing a $60M campus expansion with a focus on affordability and inclusion. The NKB Campus provides significant arts infrastructure in the heart of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.
Launched in 2015, the Artspace Immersion program keeps growing! Immersion empowers cohorts of arts and cultural leaders to make informed decisions about their current or future space.
In 2025, Artspace will celebrate a decade of sustainable operations at El Barrio’s Artspace PS109: A gorgeous, historic building in East Harlem that is home to 120+ residents.
This spring, The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County brought Artspace Consulting to Muncie to explore our community’s creative sector and creative space.
