The mission at Upturn Arts (UA) is to provide “Arts for All.” Their arts programming (dance, music, theatre, visual arts, and more) fosters the artistic development, personal growth, collaborative skills, and confidence of youth in the Greater New Orleans area, regardless of socio-economic background. Their vision is to empower youth to become creative, confident, and productive members of society through the arts.
Program Goals
This opportunity will allow Upturn Arts to increase their current capacity to add additional youth and programs, expand their program offerings, provide local artist support through training in their pedagogy, and encourage community partner collaboration. This space will serve as a home base for Upturn Arts that will serve as a community hub for creative and arts programming across all demographics, genres, and ages. With this expansion, Upturn Arts will reach over 1,000 NOLA youth a year.
